Isola di Ortigia, Siracusa. Ours is a love story. The love between Tommaso and Gabriella, the key to everything, and the Loreto family’s love for their work and company, which has forever penetrated the lives, dreams, efforts and joys of all those who contributed - and contribute - to this marvellous project, which today walks on the legs of 120 men and women.
The first invention: 20th May 1955, at 11:27 am at the Chamber of Commerce of Milan, a patent is deposited for the “twist tie”, a product which since then has become of common use for billions of people.
The foundation: two decidedly visionary twenty-somethings, Gabriella Cacchi and Tommaso Loreto, found Cielle Imballaggi in Siracusa.
The new plant: the entire family moves the company and transfers their residency to the new area of Città Giardino, where Cielle Imballaggi is located today. The building that was once the family home is today used as an office block for the administration team.
New forces in the company: Vittorino, Corrado and Amelia Loreto permanently join the company. The two decidedly visionary twenty-somethings of the ‘50s are now joined by three twenty-somethings, who since their childhood, have grown in symbiosis with the company, living its hardships, dreams and hopes.
The foundation of Rotocalco Mediterranea: with a model project of “Young Entrepreneurship”, in just 12 months Rotocalco Mediterranea sees the light, thanks to which the packaging film offer is extended to rotogravure printed laminates. Our Group becomes one of the few in Italy able to simultaneously propose multi-layer coextrusion, flex and rotogravure printing, single-layer films and laminates.
Our paradigm: every five years a set of actions is developed, updated and implemented, which can be summarised in a model that combines a company vision, courageous investments and hard work. The economic result is the doubling of the Group’s volumes and turnover with every cycle.
The foundation of Total Pack: with the ambitious objective of introducing substantial improvements in the packaging of various products such as flour, sugar and the entire tissue sector (napkins, rolls, etc.), Total Pack is born, which gives its name to the recyclable and biodegradable packaging representing one of the most ground-breaking innovations in recent years in the world of packaging.
